21st District Badminton Championship

Sports Physiotherapy Support- 21^st District Badminton Championship from 3^rd to 6^th August 2011

VidyaMandir Public School Sector 15, Faridabad conducted 21^stDistrict Badminton Championship from 3^rd to 6^th august 2011organised by Faridabad District Badminton Association. Sh. Anand Gupta was the tournament chairman, Sh. Anand Mehta was the president, Sh. K. CKarantak was the chief referee.

It was an open tournament in which more than 2000 players participated under different categories. Categories under which players played were under 13, under 15, under 17, under 19 and 25+. Students from all over the school in Faridabad participated and under Men and Women category also players participated from Faridabad District only. It as an open tournament so any person can register and there was no such qualification round or criteria for that which made it a more exciting tournament as it brought out new talents and it was a great encouragement for any person to participate in a sporting event and be the part of it.

Tournament started on 3^rd August in the morning from 9 am and it went on to till 10 pm in the evening. On the following days of the tournament same timing was followed and lot many matches were played one by one. On the last day of the tournament closing ceremony was performed and chief guest Mr. Kaushik Anand MLA, Haryana were present. The chief guest awarded prizes to the players. Mr. Anand Mehta, ?Principal of the school, including many school teachers and head teachers were present during the occasion. Students from various school showed lot of enthusiasm during the tournament and they were the highlight of the event.

Manav Rachna International University also presented its players in the tournament and they showed their presence. They again proved there quality and top standard of play.

Physiotherapists from the Faculty of Applied Sciences were present for the appropriate purpose. Following are the persons:-

Some injuries happened as the part of any sports event. Injuries faced include ankle twists, abrasions and lower grade muscle pulls. Primary treatment was given as per the conditions and the situation was managed. It was a great exposure as a sports physiotherapist being the part of tournament as it was all about badminton.
